The other possibility is a Guy Wolf, wheels match better but not perfect. Scroll down http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/Museum/Transport/commercial/Guy/guyhistory4.htm -- Last edit: 2020-08-24 23:16:10 |

This van has 'Bread Rolls' I think, a rather restricted product line for delivery. So as I have always suspected what is written on the outside of J.Lyons fleet of vehicles probably does not pass the Ronseal test. It's just general advertising and possibly, with the exception of Ice Cream which often had its own livery, they could be delivering a whole range of their goods. -- Last edit: 2020-08-25 14:05:11 |

Knowing how ubiquitous and varied were Lyons premises and products, including LEO, it has always amazed me how quickly it disappeared. The machinations of big business must be good for somebody, but maybe not employees. My long time employer went the same way, fortunately after I had retired. Perhaps the money boys had heard I was going! Individual fruit pie anyone? -- Last edit: 2020-08-25 14:40:06 |
