But LHD/RHD difference isn't regarded as a reason to list it as 'made for...' (even when the wipers stop on the other side)... Note that the roof was not correctly closed (the flap to fix the roof when open to the central transverse bar is outside). And note the reflection of the filming light in the fender on the right .gif ";)") . And note that the side panel under the bonnet is bent - usually this means that the chassis is severely damaged  |

DynaMike, I have always like to see different technical aspect for most country's needs for each factory make. For example, placement of mirrors, different headlight patterns, legal indicators, badge engineering and so on... Most of the country have their own rich history of legal technical aspect of why and it's origin. Again, it is a wonderful site for me to find those cars in exotic places. It is a really learning experience to know those technical placement that I don't usually find in my home market. |

It has a galvanised chassis and a few bumps but it starts fine and drives as good as a 20 odd year old 2cv can. The wipers can be swapped to rest on either the left or the righ fairly easily and all 2cv were built with holes ont eh left and right for the steering column and with a new (opposite) dashboard can be converted to left hand or right hand drive. It does only have one rear view mirror on the right (drivers side) It is from the British (and origional) Version from Extras and it;s sitting on my drive as I type! |

Good for you, Henbasher, that your car has got a galvanised chassis Mine (from 1990) has got it's second chassis a few years ago, and yet it's getting some rust problems I apologize that I made the impression that your car would be a wreck. It was just my experience when I myself had bent the chassis of one of my former 2CVs (I've been a 2CV driver for 30 years...), and I've seen many other 2CVs with severe damage on the chassis that was almost invisible, except for the bent bent panel. But of course this panel could have been bent by someone leaning on it, e.g. Your car looks really grat, and personally I think that of the recent 2CV models the grey-and-grey Charleston is by far the most charming and interesting |
