Hudson or AMC Rambler - mid 50's |

It's probably a Nash, I don't think there was an "AMC" brand until the 60s. |

I'm pretty sure that's a '57 Hornet with the taller fins and the crease between the fender and the fins, the crease wasn't on the '55s and '56s had small chrome fins. |

Surely it's a 55: (1) Two-part name scripts on front fender belt line. (2) Two-tone paint area beginning below side windows and continuing towards the rear. Now for a name. Having a continental kit, if it were original it would most likely be either a Wasp Custom Hollywood hardtop, or a Hornet Custom Hollywood hardtop on a 7-inch longer wheelbase. Now one more sticking point: My book places "Custom" and "Super" ahead of the series name (Hornet or Wasp). This actual brochure places the "Custom" after the Wasp series name here . I say follow the brochure. Also I agree on a Hornet. It's a rather long rear window for a coupe. I believe this indicates the longer wheelbase. |

It still warrants recognition that this film is titled "Hollywoodland" and here we have a Hudson whose hardtop was called the Hollywood! |

....and if it had custom duals, with 'glasspacks',it would have what my Dad called "Hollywood Pipes"? (Used in a sentence: I knew that was you, son,I heard your Hollywood Pipes coming up the street?)(And yes,I've had those on several of my past & present vehicles??) |

Does appear to have the longer Hornet wheelbase. |
