Alas for Italy, but ID/DS'ses were never build in in that country. There were cars build in Paris for the Italian market, with Italian specifications, such as protruding white indicators in front (same as US-spec), small orange indicators on the sides of the front wings (like DK and S), full hubcaps on ID's, modified rear bumper. Because of the grills in the front wings ('cendriers') and the dashboard, this obviously is a DS19, modelyear 1961-1962. This car has French front indicators. Maybe white with orange bulbs? I also miss the small side-indicators on the wings, so this must be a DS19 made for the French market. Michel Coenen Archive Citroën ID/DS Club Netherlands |

In "Toutes les Citroën" by René Bellu (p.193) it is said that apart from the local production in the years 1926-1932 there was also a Citroën-factory in Milano from 1953 till 1968 (but not is mentionned what models were built there). I thought most Citroëns of this period were imported from Belgium, though. Isn't this the (Belgian) colour 'vert agave'? The indicators seem to have two colours in one glass: white on the front, orange on the sides: made for Italy. |

Why most of them would be imported from Belgium and not from France? It somehow was divided? |
