I have copy of the same, now extinct, listing of "RAF Vehicle Registration Numbers (VRN)"

The truck could have been re-registered from wartime or just post-war numbering system, also from new on or after 1947.
AD reservred for Refuellers, Fuel Trailers and Specialist Vehicles.

The Mapleleaf forum mentions the Karrier Bantam in relation to wartime RAF vehicles also Mk.I and Mk.II versions (but a post-war vehicle with hydraulic brakes also possible here I think).
The front wheel arch shape changed between 1939 and 1946 at the latest, exactly when I cannot find currently.

Karrier Bantam with similar RAF registration.

The flatbed truck.

edit: The "Bantam 2-ton load carrier" was produced as part of Commer and Karrier's wartime production for military use.
