Austin A40 Cambridge and A50 Cambridge are identical except for engine size. 1954-1957 A40 Cambridge has 1200cc engine 30,000 were produced (both 2-door and 4-door) 1954-1957 A50 Cambridge has 1489cc engine 114,000 were produced (4-door only). "'A50' was a new model number at Austin in 1954, and really indicated no more than a larger-engined, more-powerful version of the A40 model. The A50 shared all the same basic design, body-styling, running gear and suspension with the A40, except that a two-door body option was never offered, and the engine was enlarged." from http://www.co-oc.org/A50.html -- Last edit: 2006-03-13 11:55:12 |
