Plate looks like MJC 5 (Caernavonshire, April 63) or MJG 5 (Canterbury, Nov 56), maybe even MJS 5 (Ross & Cromarty, April 63). None makes sense for original on a Silver Dawn (ended 1955), but MJG 5 could work if a Silver Wraith. |

The inset headlamps, and the two piece plus numberplate style of front bumper are more frequently seen on Standard Steel Silver Dawn saloons, but this is a Rolls-Royce and rules are made to be ignored. My feeling is it’s a Dawn, but I would like to see more coachwork. The best solution would be a view of the back as numberplates don’t mean much either. |

Probably not the first car that used 'MJC 5' as personal number-plate (currently on an untaxed Ford diesel). No other views of the car. |
