 Don't be, these fenders and bumpers also appeared on 1968+ 1200, door mrror 1968+

Might be missing quarterlights? but it has the smaller convertible windscreen (actually the wipers are too big for the window....)

 Looking on ancient windshield frame and wipers and I'd say it's pre-1958 Cabriolet, rebuilt with later elements. :think:

 Indeed. That explains he lower doors, they are curved Heb doors. Car is fitted with 1974 fenders. Build # (body number) not given (14-someting, said to have been a total of 696 built) Production of Hebs later moved to Karmann and made there until 1953

 Seems to be a match for /vehicle_124724-Volkswagen-1300-Typ-1-1967.html Same modifications - new wings with indicators and vertical headlamps, seats, dash, sun visors, door mirror, missing crest, wrong wipers - the only thing is the elephants are clearly seen in a scene, they are not visible in Sins.

The color changes between two shots - but that may be a light issue as the numbers match, which in turn could be fake anyway.
