More than likely not in East Timor where this scene appears to take place. Removing the model name
Until more research is conducted.

East Timor was occupied by Indonesia until 1999, so use the Indonesian name.

I say negative, we didn't get the D21 pickup here, only its SUV counterpart, the Pathfinder, which was sold here as the Terrano.

I say this is an import, as the majority of cars in East Timor (or Timor Leste) as what I can find, were actually imported second-hand cars from Indonesia, Japan, and likely to a lesser extent, Singapore AFAIK. I've watched two driving POV videos in East Timor, and have spotted a third gen Suzuki Solio (JDM), few second gen Nissan Notes (JDM), few Toyota Aquas (JDM), few Nissan AD Y12 vans (JDM), a Honda Vamos Hobio (JDM), Nissan NV200 Vanette (JDM), few Toyota Rush TRD Sportivos (RI-spec), few Mitsubishi Fuso Canters (RI-spec, mostly painted in yellow here), few Daihatsu Gran Max pickups (RI-spec), few Toyota Kijang Innovas (RI-spec), few Toyota Avanza Velozes (RI-spec), less-extent Daihatsu Xenias (RI-spec), a Mitsubishi Xpander (RI-spec), and even some Toyota Calyas (RI-only model, not exported elsewhere when brand new).

East Timor also sold a few new cars that sold in Indonesia, but in their own specifications, not shared. I've spotted a second gen Toyota Rush [F800], sold brand new in there, in the export spec, not the Indonesian-spec as we're usually seen here. No brand new TL-spec TRD Sportivos or GR Sports sold there, requires to import used ones from Indonesia.

Thank you for that insight. Looking at the rear view mirror this one appears to be LHD as the mirror is pointed to the left. I will default list as Pick-Up and leave out a made for tag since we cannot be sure where this one came. 1986 will suffice as that was the first year for exports outside of Japan.

Or a wonky mirror pointing to the right?
