It's a Buick Century, 1954-1958 and based on the heavier Buick Special |

kaefergarage, won't you please cut that crap "1954-1958", that doesn't mean a thing. What makes you say it's a Century for sure . By the way, the Special, being the small and cheaper Buick, wasn't "heavier" at all. |

There is no doubt that it is a '56 but from this angle a bit hard to determine the model. In this era even the Special was a big heavy car! |

The shape of the rear window shows that it's a Riviera hardtop sedan, the trunk that it's not a Roadmaster. I would need a side view to tell more. -- Last edit: 2008-01-29 21:52:35 |

I think it's a Super model. Seems to have the larger C-body proportions which were exclusive to the Super/Roadmaster series in the Buick line. |

The main image shows the A-pillar to be at an angle, narrowing it to the Special/Century (number of portholes). Only the Roadmaster had different side trim. Right now I can't open pdf files, but this should be the correct brochure: http://www.agentbudd.com/56Buick/index2.html Click the image to the right of "Buick for 1956 Presents" |

Thanks no_car, clearly a Special, model 43 4-door Riviera hardtop. Colouring is Bittersweet, available in spring of '56, and Dover White. The paint code then would be 56-CTC. Good one! |
