Lengthy sequence of what I assume is a single race, not identified in voiceover, which talks about English racing successes. Looks UK/GB scenery, and this suggests Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Main is opening shot of front of grid, with the white on left looking like this #9 in later shots Wondered if it was ERA?? Other captures from the race, in sequence as shown onscreen Haven't pursued which year yet. |

The white car on the left is an ERA, but exactly which one would require knowledge of which race. -- Last edit: 2021-06-11 19:54:55 |

The start as seen here in 'The Isle of Man Road Race 1935' Pat Fairfield won in the white car No. 9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oE5ESEggftA R4A was built in 1935 as the first ERA customer car and run by the team for Pat Fairfield. The white painted R4A was fitted with a 1,100cc. supercharged engine. Fairfield had wins in the Mannin Beg on the Isle of Man, the Nuffield Trophy at Donington Park and the Dieppe Grand Prix Voiturette race. http://www.englishracingautomobiles.co.uk/the-cars.html -- Last edit: 2021-06-11 22:13:36 |
