It’s an early A40, and, although the image is doing its best to conceal it, I think it’s the rare A40 Dorset. |

Yes, a Dorset by the looks of it. A Devon would have front 1/4 lights. |

Nearly true - quarterlights came in Sept 49, 2 years after Dorset/Devon launch and after Dorset dropped in Sept 48. So quarterlights mean Devon only. But no quarterlights does not split the earlier twins. Another similar distinction is separate sidelights (May 49 onwards), again after Dorset dropped, so sidelights can only be Devon, but absence is not diagnostic. Not disagreeing with this one being a Dorset, just clarifying info. |
