In the back, a Barkas from DDR. I don't think DDR exported Barkas vans to Russia. -- Last edit: 2012-02-07 21:02:58 (G-MANN) |

This scene was filmed on the outdoor set in England. Perhaps the producers thought that Barkas were sold in the USSR, or perhaps they just thought that it was not entirely authentic but good enough. |

Ah, in at least every Bond-movie, with scenes, set in annother country, we have that. Think about the plenty of fakes Sovietish military vehicles for example. Not for the first time I must think, that, despite the huge budgets, which the makers of Bond-movies always have, they don't have a good hand for the originality of locations, cars and -this is always totally obvious- license plates. |

At 1995 such kind of plates were still around, but filmmakers didn't have a clue that last two letters is code of region. |

And the producers had to find (locally as far as possible) dozens of cars that were suitable for a Russian scene or at least looked the part, and were in good enough working condition to be driven all day. Breakdowns are expensive because the entire crew will be hanging around doing nothing until the car is repaired. ![]() |

Yes Gag, as here: /vehicle.php?id=4317 |

They don't have any clue about any plates. Terrible example: /movie_120347-Tomorrow-Never-Dies.html but for sure not the only one of all Bond-movies. |

Please set year to 1976. The 2300 was introduced in '76 and the 1987 facelift models looked different: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAF_F218_series |

There is no point putting a year in when the range is so uselessly vast. |
