It is apparently a Sunbeam. (I guessed!) The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for UI 404 are: Date of Liability 01 07 2008 Date of First Registration 28 07 1921 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1590CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour GREEN Vehicle Type Approval null The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry. I'd be surprised if it's as recent as 1921, it looks older. |

It looks like a 12/16hp model from about 1913. |

That looks more like it (1912 actually). http://www.sunbeam.org.au/gallery/ballard2.jpg ![]() |

If the registration was actually U 1404 what do you get then? U followed by 1 to 9999 puts the car as registered in Leeds, UI followed by 1 - 9999 was issued by Londonderry, so it could be either. The pre World War 1 Sunbeam 12/16 had an engine capacity of 3016cc so it looks like the DVLA are wrong again. |
