I have no cross-check data on the cylinder capacity here , but with 1572 cc it would fall into the fourteen taxable horsepower category , so I would go for a 1935 Hillman Fourteen Saloon. The sixteen had a capacity of 2110 cc and the twenty/70 of 2810 cc. |

Don't you think that this is an awful lot of car for a 1572cc engine to pull around. Anyway the Hillman 14 engine is 1944cc. The car is a 16, or a 20/70 like Pilou said. For reference, RAC horsepower is calculated by measurement of the diameter of the bore only, the length of the stroke is ignored. The 3 litre Bentley was only 15.9 RAC horsepower. The formula is Bore diameter measurement squared, times the number of cylinders, divided by 2.5 if the measurement is in inches, or by 1613 if the measurement is in millimetres. |

More likely then, that its at least a Hillman 16 I think, if the engine capacity is doubtful. |
