jettalover ◊ 2008-03-26 02:00	Tailpipe behind rear tire was first fitted for the '99 model year. For some reason Ford mounted it ahead of the tire for '97 and '98. Why?
damndave ◊ 2008-09-22 22:30	Believe the tailpipe was unique to the 97 only. Could be wrong. My guess is less pipe was used, less pipe = more profit.

The reason the exhaust was changed was due to customers getting burnt on it so Ford moved it behind the wheel. Not sure how someone got burnt but it was definitely a potential lawsuit waiting to happen. [PN96].
