The 11th digit (9) indicates built in Poland. Indeed a 1990 MY by the 10th digit (L). |

There was no Volkswagen assembly (even SKD) in Poland on 1990. T4's limited assembling began in December 1993 on Poznań-Antoninek plant. |

If so, the Taro was built in Japan AND Germany and we have to change again some information... EDIT: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Taro#History Now it's quite clear, just the very standard versions were made in Germany, the others like the one above came from Japan. Poland/Poznan is X according to https://www.nininet.de/fahrgestellnummer.html -- Last edit: 2022-01-20 22:23:19 |

@dhill_cb7 The Września factory was built to assemble the Crafter II, 2016+. So your list is of course not wrong (if Crafter use the 9 for their birthplace, IDK yet). For a more detailed list I'd suggest the list I hyperlinked above, even if it's in German, but it feautures nearly all possibilities, except the new plant. https://volkswagen-poznan.pl/de/werke/wrzesnia -- Last edit: 2022-01-20 23:29:58 |

(Links to Google Maps). X - Poznan, Poland Plant no.1 (Caddy & T6 currently) on location of old FSR factory (Tarpan), Poznań-Antoninek. 9 - Wrzesnia, Poland Plant no.2 (Crafter) rolled on October 2016, Białężyce near Września. |

Thank you all. The list I was using is incomplete from the research above. Much appreciated! |

![]() AFAIK VW only has not built the version with the longer cab and also not the 4x4. Those versions were all branded as Toyota. |
