Wartburg 1000? I must agree (the later type of rear bumper and the tail lights), but not with the year 1959. Wartburg 1000 was made since 1962. |

No, 312 was another type, was produced only 2 years, 1965-1966 and it had the new chassis with coils springs instead of transversal leaf springs which were typical for Wartburg 311. And also smaller 13" wheels. 1956-1962 it was Wartburg 311 900, 1962-1965 Wartburg 311 1000 (with engine 312, it was the name for the new 1 l engine), 1965-1966 Wartburg 312 and 1966+ W353, which was the chassis of 312 with new modern body (and new carb, 12 V battery etc). |
