difficult to say but the white band and the mirrors are clues |

not sure the white band is a clue, unless they were all painted that way |

I'm sure it's a white band, you can see the scene probably shot in Germany here at 1:59' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWN_tm8S7WQ If we assume that these are German cars, I think of a Mercedes or an Opel, already of a certain luxury...it's a car with a radio antenna on the roof so maybe a cab ? -- Last edit: 2022-01-01 19:19:14 |

Let the be light (x2).. This one is really bugging me, because the ponton shape of the sedan should be easily recognizable and if the car is German then it would be even easier, but the thing is, it doesn´t match with any German saloon of that era (especially with these high-placed door handles), unless this is some coachbuilt car or a prototype (perhaps from GDR as well, since it´s filmed there?). Another big possibly is that it´s a non-German car, but nothing comes to my mind either. -- Last edit: 2022-01-02 03:41:30 |

1953+ Opel Kapitan ? (with the front turn indicators overflowing on the fender) Not easy to find with this only view |

I have the impression that this is not West Germany, so the possibilities would expand ... |

I agree with you. This car is strange and doesn't match anything I've ever seen. Apparently it looks like the interior (roof and windows) is raised above the body? There was only a Mercedes proto w118/w119 that was like that. The door handles are actually very high and are amazing. I vaguely read that Chevrolet had sometimes adopted the decorative white stripe on some vehicles of the time but I didn't find anything either on the cab or specific vehicles. I wonder if we should not look for a military vehicle...there were still many of them in Germany in the sixties... -- Last edit: 2022-01-03 16:22:15 |

Opel kapitan 1955 is a good idea it could match |

Indeed, it seems like 1954-1955 Kapitan with side slat too low a bit. |

Indeed, this fits! At first, I thought it was a door lock below the door handle in the subject picture, but it is most likely just a reflection. The side trim is also a little bit longer (?) but it may have been customized later. -- Last edit: 2022-01-04 03:34:07 |
