Due to the two-piece windshield with divider in the centre, I would say this is a 1951 model. -- Last edit: 2008-03-06 20:49:17 |

Yes, and so sad to see it in a junkyard. These were very stylish cars for their day. |

DAF555 kindly sent us the registration papers from the national archive in Stockholm today. With these we can tell the whole story of this car. The 1951 Kaiser Special 4-Door Sedan was type approved in Sweden November 27 1950. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This Kaiser was registered December 27 1950 by AB Hans Osterman. It's first license number was A46656, A = Stockholms stad. The first owner was Doctor Einar Rothstein in Johanneshov who got it January 2 1951. ![]() ![]() The car changed owner to Official Gösta Sundström in Sundbyberg 16 November 1957 and got the new license number B64252, B = Stockholms län. He had it for ten years when it was sold November 4 1967 to Manager Claes Hermansson in Täby. 51 years later January 21 this year 2018 it was passed down to his son. The new license number ECZ912 was given to it around 1972 when Sweden got the new system with three letters and three digits. Note that the license number in the new system always got the same last digit as it had in the old system. |

Some pictures found online: 1974: ![]() ![]() 2005: ![]() ![]() 2018: ![]() Apparently it started out in maroon red, then repainted green, then ivory white and later the roof was painted green as we see it here. -- Last edit: 2021-09-19 02:31:37 |
