Could this be SAAB 96 Monte Carlo? Script/logo at the grille. -- Last edit: 2022-05-27 21:56:05 |

In the second thumb it's possible to see a badge which reads "SAAB Sport". That is what this is. SAAB Sport was introduced in 1962 as a successor to GT 750 (but before the Monte Carlo). It had a 841 cc 52 hp DIN engine with three Solex carburettors in parallel and disc brakes. |

Close. Badged as Saab Sport (See the 4-lug wheels, side trim, the front fender badge and the boot badge - all in lowercase letters) 1963-64 (Grille badge, old front) List as SAAB Sport [96]? -- Last edit: 2022-05-28 16:25:56 |

I forgot to tell my source. It is "bilar på Saab-vis" (ENG: cars such as Saab make them), by Gunnar A Sjögren, Nyköping 1983. Agree 1963-64 as the SAAB badge by then wasn't above the grille anymore, but on it. I also find listing as SAAB Sport [96] appropriate. Finally I have to add that the SAAB Sport was branded "SAAB Grandturismo 850" in the U.S. Perhaps "SAAB Sport" and "SAAB Grandturismo 850" should be under the same headline? -- Last edit: 2022-05-29 13:00:17 |
