Unusual ZA-spec headlights? |

Agree odd lights. I guess it's a ZA-build XR6, but can't check my pile of Cortina bibles until I get back home in a few days. -- Last edit: 2022-07-08 23:48:02 |

1983+ XR6? |

It's a Mk4, so 83+ is a bit new. The XR6 was a late renaming/upgrade of 3.0 S, so might be a wrong turn. Compare this 3.0 S, and this one with similar badges - a known UK import from ZA. |

It seems South African 4-door Mk.IV's assembly ceased in 1984. (EDIT: that was brain fart). Mk.V, of course. So, nothing to see, nothing to see... -- Last edit: 2022-07-09 11:34:15 |

These lights could be optional. |

Was ZA a Mark No different from U.K? My 1979 (JVT586V) was a Mk V. |

^ Mk5 was Oct 79 launch in UK, initially promoted as "Cortina 80". |

My Cortina bibles don't directly answer this, but 1977+ 3.0S (as rear badge suggests) seems best estimate. Nothing mentioned about the 4 headlight grille - the only example in the books with similar is described as unique to the 1987 facelift of Turkish build Taunus. |
