1978 (the 'R' on the TX license plate (first letter seen) denotes the year the plate was minted in the State of Texas; at the time of filming these license plates were being phased out where a May 1988 state law made TX license plates over 8 years old 2 be replaced (1989 was the final year where pre-1978 issued plates were retired); plates minted after 1975 are usually considered non-collectible but they have shown up in gamerooms or collected as artwork canvasses |
