Possibly an A40 silhouette?? |

I associate those windows with a Bedford VAL Duple Vega Major? |

I think that you are right. don't know if the Vega Major was put on any other chassis, but it seems unlikely. |

The Duple Vega Major was only built on the Bedford VAL. I'm torn - it might be the angle, but it looks a bit short for a VAL. Possibly a Duple Bella Vega body on a Bedford SB? Obviously the parked Mini makes you think of 'The Italian Job', but the VAL in that movie had Harrington coachwork, not Duple. |

I had a look at the episode and only found one other distant view of the coach. It looks too short for a VAL to me, I would suggest a Bedford SB. |

I attempted a panoramic view based on the distant panning shot... If it is a Bedford, agreed a SB with some modified-shortened Duple body probably. |

Possibly the rear windows behind the angled pillar have been “mucked about” as part of the car transporter conversion. My first thought was Bella Vega, but the back end looked wrong. |

As SteveA's comment and after some searching I suspect its one of these, I doubt they would bother any big changes other than a rear door for the car transporter. Bedford SB Duple Bella Vega -- Last edit: 2022-09-23 17:56:51 |

Cool! I missed that view. You can see it's not a twin-steer VAL. The other Duple bodies of the time, like the Commander on the Leopard or Reliance, looked different from the back. If I were in a mischievous mood I'd suggest a Bella Venture body on a Ford/Thames chassis, which outwardly would look the same, but that way madness lies :-) |
