I can kind of see why they couldn't tell it was a '48. Most British cars, trucks, and buses until the early-'50s still resembled 1930s cars. Some French cars, too. |

Apparently new in October 1948 with the Beadle body. Much European car development was held up by the small matter of WW2. The Morris Minor slipped through the cracks, following the American system by covering antediluvian mechanical parts with flashy curved sheet metal. -- Last edit: 2022-10-23 12:14:32 |

http://www.old-bus-photos.co.uk/?cat=376&paged=3 An extract from the write-up to which the above link will take the reader. “It is fitted with a 7.7 litre AEC engine as specified by Royal Blue, the coachwork largely to Duple design, was contracted out to Beadles of Dartford as the coach building capacity during the post war recovery period was overstretched.” Which explains why the Beadle body looks so very Duple, and confirms its originality. -- Last edit: 2022-10-23 09:11:21 |

Owned by Greg Lawson ( http://www.yesteryearcars.co.uk/ ). I think this was the first coach Greg restored. It is stunning, and the link I have provided should lead you to more shots of HOD30, including the plush interior. |
