Both correct. Most probably made in Finland. |

@elsch: Why most probably made in Finland? Was the finnish quality better than the swedish, that is was the cars made for the U.S. usually made in Finland? I know that Volvo had an assembly line in Kalmar for a while where the quality control was much more rigid, and the time allocated for assembly much more generous, in order to mimimize guaranty commitments and get a better rating in the U.S. |

The convertible was based on the 2-door sedan and built by Valmet in Finland. The 4-door sedan was also built in other places, but for the rare 2-door, Valmet had sufficient capacity. |

First UK reference I can find for 2 door is April 84 900i, with no suggestion it was more than a basic version. Then Oct 85 update - no details but was a range revamp with side indicators, another range update in Oct 86 with thinner bumpers. So am thinking 84-85 early one, unless any of our Saabists can give better info. |

The front is definitely a MY 1987+ slant front. |
