The slats on the petrol tank indicate a Daimler of some sort. The registration number indicates County Borough Council of Bournemouth, 1926 ish. -- Last edit: 2023-01-31 20:56:09 |

RU 3945 = Bournemouth, late 1926. If Daimler, Hooper did several Landaulettes about this time on the range of models available - 16/55, 20/70, 25/85 and 35/120, plus really big ones (N.30, R.30). Some rigidly side-on book pics suggest only the big ones (35/120 and N/R30) had wires and side-mounted spares, with moderately big (25/85) having solid wheel covers and concealed spare. But no idea if these are reliable clues or just random picture choices. No clue which ones had double bumpers, but both illustrated Landaulettes had socking great hoods like this. |

The other point that would suggest a Daimler is the trail of oil smoke. The Daimlers of this decade were all fitted with Sleeve Valve engines. |

RU 3945 is missing from the records at Bournemouth... https://kitheadtrust.org.uk/england-wales Why can't they all be like Barnsley. "Registers complete 1913-1976." |
