Picture added....believe previous description is correct. Chrysler Imperial identified in movie. Further side view. -- Last edit: 2006-03-25 18:49:25 |

Imperial was the make at this point. It's definitely a 1967 model. I think it's a Crown |

Excellent movie featuring this Turbine Bronze 1967 Imperial Crown hardtop driven by actor Joe Don Baker. This Imperial even features a bronze painted spotlight! |

Yes, just "Imperial". From model years 1955 through 1975, it was a fully separate make. From 1926 through 1954 = top Chrysler model. (I believe the '81-'83 was registered as a separate make, too.) |

" A maroon Chrysler Imperial, all souped up. 140mph on the straightaways, guaranteed." "Sounds reasonable." |

Indeed. Since those picture links are long dead, I'll add some: Note how the body twists so hard upon landing that the trunk lid gets dislodged from its hinges... I'd have thought that these things were built stronger than that. They really were doing a full-on rodeo with this car. Joe Don Baker's character was visibly having fun whipping it around in this scene. -- Last edit: 2021-12-11 21:41:19 |

Anyone know if this was available as a factory option? I don't think so, but it certainly looks the part: |
