Top secret tank prototype being developed by army major in abandoned Yorkshire quarry/mine![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Must be easy to drive because the nasty enemy spy jumps into it at one point and promptly drives away. Ad then a bit later, 15 year old Tom jumps into it and promptly drives away to chase down the nasty enemy spy - the magic of kids TV and flimsy plots?? I suppose it'll have to be a Made For Movie, but is there a genuine proto-tank which might have inspired it?? Tracks/chassis look modern something - Caterpillarish?? Or?? Ep 1.05 - Tom makes a model of it ![]() |

"The Bob Semple tank (sometimes referred to as Big Bob) was a light tank designed by New Zealand Minister of Works Bob Semple during World War II." from wiki - some sort of fracture in the space-time continuum?? |

It's inspired by Little Willie, the first ever tank prototype. That much is evident from the front windows and sloping glacis. Little Willie didn't have any sponsons though, so I wouldn't say this represents anything other than a generic tank. It's definitely not meant to be a Bob Semple because that was basically unknown at the time this movie was made, it only became well known recently because of internet memes.![]() -- Last edit: 2024-10-12 01:26:22 |
