If by "officially" you mean 1948 Packard Super Eight sales brochures, they do indeed seem to say simply "The Convertible", at least judging from what Google throws up as such. That said, though, where did the book "American Cars 1946-1959" got this from: ![]() And because simplicity is never the way forward, the earlier "50 Years of American Automobile 1939-1989" lists it as "conv cpe" (= "Convertible Coupé") under a "Super Eight" heading. Exactly. I guess the Victoria name stuck around as a nickname for post-war Packards, as it had certainly been used previously on pre-war models. |
