LYF 104 is alive and well: http://www.busmuseum.org.uk/rally2005/postphoto2005/LYF-104.jpg It is a London Transport RTL1163 |

The movie is not that old actually, unlike the vehicles that it contains |

Two preserved buses here: on the left RTL1163 (LYF104) is a 1951 Leyland PD2/1 with Park Royal body. On the right RT54 (FXT229) is a 1940 AEC Regent with LPTB (London Passenger Transport Board) body. Note the white painted mudguard, it's in wartime livery. Prewar RTs were AEC Regents, postwar RTs were AEC Regent Mk IIIs. You can tell a prewar RT by the front windscreen as it curves down to the left. |

"Croydon" was filmed in various locations around Liverpool, and the house was filmed in Reading. Nice to see that the film makers used 'genuine' buses-however I lived not far from Brixton garage(BN) in South London for many years, and as much as I love an RTL, they did not come to BN until the mid '60's. RTLs were used on the 133, and RTWs were used on the 95 and 109 routes. The last RTW in service ran from BN |
