Yes ..very similar to the 6000 STE..I once had.! |

Looks like an STE to me because of the 2 extra factory [fog]lamps in grille. |

Of all the Pontiac 6000's on this site, this is the coolest looking one. Only one I've ever seen with three headlights. ![]() |

This is a 1984 Pontiac 6000 STE. |

This is a 1983, the STE was introduced in 1983, and this car has the 1983 grill, so this is a 1983 Pontiac 6000 STE. |

What's the difference between the '83 and '84 grille? I see these cars so rarely that I don't know the difference, and Google isn't much help. The only STE I see with any regularity is my own (an '85). |

As I recall, the movie 48 hours came out in 84, so I would say it is an 84; and I do not think their is a difference in the grille from 1983 to 1985 on the STE model. |

But the movie was made in 1983 so i'd say it's an 83'. |

Movie came out in Dec. of '84, so that leaves a chance of it being a '84 model. |

Very true, but since the movie was filmed in 1983, that was before the 1984 models came out so it absolutly had to have been an '83. For example, the movie Twister was made in 1995, and came out in 1996, so the Dodge Ram was a 1995 because that was before the 1996 models came out, and thats how it goes for every movie. |

1984 models would have more than likely come out in April of 1983 |

But remember only a limited number of 6000 STE's were produced each year, so that makes it more likely that 84' models came out in at least October of 83, not April |
