This is a one and a half decker built on an underfloor engined chassis for use as transport between Central London and Heath Row Airport. The Routemaster was a front engined double decker, the design of which was constrained by size regulations imposed by the government, and the need to transport the maximum quantity of bodies in the minimum of road space.
