Nice anachronism on the headlights! If this military truck is truly from USA, they would use US spec headlights! |

..if you bring up the small thumbnail one can see the truck has really small non chevron tyres for it to be a CCKW.. but i reckon it is a standard GMC CCKW..but obviously in the hands of a modern enthusiast, hence the small tyres, the two spare tyres...and the modern headlamps....the engineers stencilling to the bumper was done purely for the TV episode....all the vehicles are from UK owners "propped" for the show. |

This is indeed a standard open cab GMC CCKW 352. All the 352's (the short wheel base models) had two spares mounted as these are above the fuel tank behind the cab. More CCKWs were built for WWII than any other vehicle and many remained in UK following 1945 (no point in returning several hundred thousand perfectly useful vehicles to the US when new trucks were being built! Same marketing story for the jeeps.) Anyway yes a GMC CCKW 352. |
