if i remember right, this was the episode which had some US Engineers building a runway in England some 2 years before they actually were "over here" in real life! |

The episode 'Invasion' is set in March 1942. UK airfields were used by the American Air Forces from 1942 but I cannot find any dates for US Army Engineers constructing them on farm land in Sussex? http://www.controltowers.co.uk/usaaf%20list.htm -- Last edit: 2008-08-06 18:58:26 |

The US Armys 215 Engineers (thats what the vehicles are stencilled as) didnt come to the UK until 1943, when they started to build airfields for the USAAFs 8th Air Force B17 Bombers.....also, although the White halftrack entered production in 1941, its highly unlikely that this vehicle would be in the UK in 1942...this type of vehicle probably wouldnt have hit the UK shores until the build up to D Day. -- Last edit: 2008-08-07 19:25:14 |

This is not an M2 nor a White. It has a long bed so not the M2. The rounded bed corners and the front fender style is that of the International Harvester built models. |

Those ladders are characteristic of the M5A2. -- Last edit: 2024-11-28 20:37:42 |
