Comment from suggested late-60's Shelby Mustang. Is it Shelby Mustang or Ford Shelby Mustang?

It is neither a Shelby Mustang nor a Ford Shelby Mustang. Officially, there are no "Shelby Mustangs". Mustangs *became/become* Shelbys at the Shelby facility, so this is a 1969 Shelby GT350 or GT500 Convertible.

MODEL YEAR DISTINCTION:
The 1970 Shelbys (which were leftover 1969 models) had black stripes on the hood and a black air dam under the front bumper. See http://forums.bradbarnett.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=11400&c=332

The 1969 Shelbys had no hood stripes and no air dam. See http://forums.bradbarnett.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=15344&c=141

BODY STYLE DISTINCTION:
Convertibles had large scoops just behind the passenger door, as seen in the still above. See http://forums.bradbarnett.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=15344&c=141

The SportsRoofs (fastbacks) had smaller scoops mounted just under the window. See http://forums.bradbarnett.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=5339&c=141

TRIM DISTINCTION:
It says either GT350 or GT500 on the front fender just behind the headlight, but that's obviously indistinguishable in the photo. See http://forums.bradbarnett.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=13899

this is the most likeley a 1970 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350/500 Covertible. This may be a help to decided which
Only 636 Shelby Mustangs were sold as 1970 models, of which 350 were GT-350s and 286 were GT-500s.

okay, looked some more, found to possabilitys.
1970 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350 Covertible or 1970 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 Covertible. Could we list as 1970 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350/500 Covertible?

I agree with TMSBrad. This car is lacking the hood stripe and lower air dam spoiler- they came on the '70 models (which, were carryover 1969 models)

I've just been renaming cars listed as "Ford Shelby" to Shelby.

1969 Production numbers: 139 GT350 Convertibles, 255 GT500 Convertibles http://www.saac.com/files/registry/68-70-prod.pdf

So GT500 is more likely.
