This is stock film from the United States, so it's a Toyota Pickup.

Lamppost banners advertising the Culligan Holiday Bowl, a college football game held annually in December in San Diego. Culligan was the sponsor 1998-2001.

Not sure if "Pickup" is a real model name here... If this were the case there'd probably at least a few dozen more listings here given how many 80s and 90s Hollywood movies are on IMCDb, but as it stands this is the only one.

They are called Truck in the USA or Hilux. Night cub might have a better idea when the name change was. I never studied the older Toyota Trucks.

Yes, we have been calling the trucks through 1974 as Hilux, and from 1975+ as Truck.

Toyota was kind of schizophrenic with what they called their pickups in the 1970s. As early as 1972, the brochures were using the term "Half-ton" or "Pickup" instead of Hilux. But the trucks themselves wore the Hilux badge until 1974, then the fender badge changed to "Toyota" in 1975. They mainly used the name "Half-ton" from 1973 through 1977 in brochures. During 1977, they introduced a cab/chassis model they called "Heavy-Duty" which they claimed could handle as much as a 3/4-ton truck (they did not call it a 3/4-ton), so from 1978 on, the brochures used the name "Truck" since the cab/chassis was more than a half-ton. With the new models in 1979, they introduced a 3/4-ton pickup in addition to the cab/chassis. They ran until 1984, and in 1985, they added more payload, changing them to 1-Ton. And in 1986, they added a Dual-Rear-Wheel option to the cab/chassis.

Probably more info than you wanted and as Baube points out, this one was clearly a "Truck" model.

Looks like a 4WD Longbed, most likely the V6, since this combo was not available in the regular 4-cyl engine, just the V6, Diesel and Turbo engines.

I was actually going to say ZA for this as opposed to the US as trim stripes are untypical of Japanese pickups in the US.

That's not correct at all. Most of the Japanese trucks of this era wore goofy stripes in the US.

I pointed out the banners because they firmly pin this footage to a specific place and time.
