more like a 49 the parking lights are not stock. end of horiz. bar on 49 ends with a spear. 50 had a cast end. best way to tell if you can see left side is there a gas filler door than its a 50 if just a cap its a 49 |

The '49's had the word "F O R D" spelled out over the spear of the grille. The '50's had that crest you see there. |

Did Ford USA only make one model in 1949/50? What was it called? |

Oh, they had models. I just don't know which one this is. Considering that it's owned by the military, you'd expect it to be a bargain-basement model of some kind. -- Last edit: 2008-09-19 14:56:20 |

Indeed, a CrestlineR would have been a top of the range 2-door sedan with two-tone paint. This is a very basic DeLuxe Fordor. |

Grille 'mustache' is 1949 but the center grille bar is 1950. Door handles, trunk hinges and and trunk handle is 1950. Badge on the front fender and openable ventilation windows reveals it as a Custom Deluxe. Bumper is 1951. |
