Didn't we list those above 400 or 500 as heavy truck rather than with the cars? (even if with US vehicles it is sometimes difficult to use that European split between cars and trucks, as it does not work in the same way ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-10-01 20:14:24 |

Yes, appears to be the first F-550 Super Duty on IMCDb. 550 is the Ultra Heavy Duty version of the Super Duty pickup line, which runs from F-250/350/450 and 550. The F-650/750 Super Duty’s are based on an altogether different chassis. Yes it’s a very heavy truck, largely restricted to commercial sales only. It would be really nice if we had a Class: Truck, Chassis Cab listing. At least if only for US trucks, this truck certainly falls under that class. -- Last edit: 2008-10-01 20:35:47 |

Neptune's right. Until 1978 Ford F-500 and 550 trucks were considered medium-duty trucks. In fact, anything above an F-350 was considered medium-duty. Heavy-duty would be something like the H-Series, N-Series, T-Series, W-Series L-Series, LTL-9000, or CLT-9000, thought F-450/550's are heavy for the pickups. Although there have been plenty of Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks here, I could swear they've included F-450's and F-550's before. BTW, when did this movie come out? I remember Christy Carlson Romano bragging on her blog about how much she enjoyed playing a bad-ass. -- Last edit: 2009-03-04 21:53:31 |

Well, it is the role of the "simple truck" class. Maybe I should rename it? As I think that all what we put there is chassis-cab. In French this kind of truck is called "porteur", so "simple truck" in the French version of the site is translated in that way. The "châssis-cabine" name is used for smaller vehicles. Around 2007 it seems. Not much info on IMDB: http://imdb.com/title/tt0454962/releaseinfo -- Last edit: 2008-10-01 21:20:55 |

2005 was the first model year for Ford's chrome "bold style" name emblems on these trucks, as well as the all-new front end and larger fender-flare treatments. This truck meets all the above criteria. Note this 2005 Ford F-550 Super Duty: ![]() ![]() |

Oh, I guess that I thought it came out when I noticed the new bold style chrome inscription came out at the street around 2006. I must have missed something out at 2005 ![]() ![]() This example shows the commerical version which it is wearing rectangle headlight and all flat black grille fitted in. -- Last edit: 2008-10-02 03:28:03 |
