People think that throwing in the bin decades of automotive history would mean progress nowadays - real progress stopped about ten years ago if not earlier if you ask me.

Lowercase letters, but an uppercase G? Whoever hired that graphical designer should have his or her head examined.

I totally agree. I don't think there's nothing good among the current products, on the contrary, but just a few years ago there were a lot more cars that I found really interesting. I think that between 2005 and 2020 we saw the best combined level of quality, safety, technology and driving pleasure, and the choice was really rich. Just think how many models there were for each brand and how many variants each model had. Now, historic models (eg. Ford Fiesta) have disappeared, several car logos have been distorted or replaced by anonymous letterings, and in too many cases customers are experiencing a drop in quality for prices that have literally doubled. This is not good

Yes, woke ads are outdated now. Elon Musk is already mocking them for it.

The perfect ad for the color washing powder.

A counterpoint on the ad, everybody is talking about it, which is giving Jaguar the most exposure they've had in years

chicomarx BE

Yes but all negative exposure. Jag is dead anyway, it will be an "all electric" division of an Indian company. They should abandon the old logo.

This new Jaguar logo is absolutely atrocious. Maybe all this backlash might get them to go back to the old one? I sure hope so.

It's funny how they're trying to push their all-electric image after they recently discontinued the I-PACE after slow sales. I liked the I-PACE, it had a quirky but unique design, and claimed the title as the best-selling Jaguar of all time in the Norwegian market (7,500 cars were sold in total). It also won European car of the year 2019, so imagine my surprise when I learnt that it had such mediocre sales elsewhere. I realise the Norwegian market is a special case when it concerns EVs, so whatever Jaguar comes up with for their new 2026 line-up will likely result in a guaranteed sale in some form or another, but the market is already oversaturated with Teslas, I.D. VWs, IONIQs, MX-30s and Chinese Tesla-killers and more. EVs have already suffered a setback with the disastrous last winter where several electric buses stopped working due to the cold and were taken out of service and temporarily replaced with ageing diesel buses previously in storage, leading to a rise in used-car sales of fossil cars and a slump in second-hand EV sales. Our clever politicians have suggested to double tax on fossil cars as a countermeasure. Seriously, **** those guys.

That ad is some of the worst crap I've ever seen. It reminds me of the mysterious Infiniti teaser ads of 1989, except those were at least aesthetically pleasing and not pushing some woke agenda. Less is more, and that Jag ad is anything but.

It could be deliberate rage-baiting, just by how over-the-top it is, but that's probably giving them too much credit.

So I was checking if someone wrote why it's not an Mk.II, and this what I find instead. :p

Well, it's the only letter in Jaguar that also appears in their 'brand's' name. ;)
Lookup Santino Pietrosanti if you want to know who switched the J in Jag into an F.
It would be far better if the old cat died a while ago naturally, instead of getting electrocuted and abused by the monkeypox crowd.

That said, I don't know why Jaguar went woke in the manner they did... We already have Subaru as THE LGBT-friendly brand (at least in North America... Here they never made a statement) and I don't see Jaguar being a feasible competitor in that regard. Terrible commercial or not. In fact I thought that ad was from some pretentious fashion brand when I first saw it!

Yes, because Martina Navratilova did ads for them. Subaru went out of their way for the gay buyer.

But Jaguar had a completely different image. Jeremy Clarkson loved saying JAAAAGG. Probably won't now.
