No vents on C-pillar so 71+. No tints, headrests, or alloys but a fair bit of chrome. 2800 or 3.0 S?? |

Were the 3.0S and 2800's offered without headrests? I thought they were standard on the 3.0S, and I have not been able to find a 2800 without ones. Couldn't it be a 2500 with all the chrome added? |

There were no headrests before 1973 anyway, so this a 1971-73 car. Side chrome was a 2800+ feature but not clear if even the base 2500 got it after the 1971 revision. Link to "bmw--e3--club-de.translate.goog" |

Sorry to ask about it, because maybe I misunderstood it, but in the link you provided it talks about the 3-liters having rear headrests after 1973. But I did not see anything about the front ones, which this car also lacks |

Well, there's nothing mentioned about the front ones as I believe thry became mandatory by law after some point (1969?). So this one probably has had them removed. |

1969 is too early for headrests mandatory in Italy. Fiat 131 gives some trace. It was equipped with front headrests for 1978 2a serie. |

You are right. I was thinking Germany but this is in Italy. Still, I think it's possible that BMW sent these E3's with front headrests everywhere and in this case they were simply removed. |
