Hmmmm, this one is a puzzle. Looks American from about 1927-8 from the style of the windscreen but not many makes had radiator shutters. |

That hood ornment has wings. Could it be an imported Austin? |

There never was an Austin with fully plated radiator shutters like this. It may be a Lincoln, but that's very much of a guess as we didn't get many here. |

I'm inclined to agree with Lincoln. This ... /vehicle_84164-Lincoln-1930.html ... doesn't have the shutters but otherwise it's a lot like it, no? Here's a 1930 Lincoln Model L with shutters: http://info.detnews.com/dn/joyrides/2004/oldcarfest04/30lincolndaught.jpg -- Last edit: 2008-10-30 22:26:07 |

The only problem with that is that this car does not have the characteristic dip in the lower line of the radiator top that Lincolns have and it doesn't have the leaping greyhound mascot. -- Last edit: 2008-11-01 20:13:07 |

I take the point about the mascot, but as regards the radiator neither does the one in the first link, which (apart from the bright shutters) quite resembles this car. I still reckon it has to be a Lincoln -- Last edit: 2008-11-01 22:14:22 |

For me this is not a Lincoln. The lower line of the radiator top here is strictly straight unlike Lincolns. The bumper blade does not fit. In Floyd Clymer\'s classic book \" Those wonderfull old automobiles\" published in 1953 LCC card n° 53.9010 on page 86 there is a picture of a slightly customised 1929 Cadillac V8 Roadster whose front strongly ressembles the front of this car with the same double ribbed blade bumper having a rectangular logo in the middle and 2 lateral joints,16 radiator shutters, a Boyce Motometer on top of the radiator cap,a single horn under the left headlight, a small round radiator logo ( a Lincoln logo would be oval),lateral cowl lights and sidemounts .It lacks the standing lights on the front fenders and the V8 rectangle between the headlights. The difference is that it is a foldable windshield roadster unlike the one here that appears to have a fixed windshield. So this may be another track to explore further but a slight custom modification is not to be excluded |

It is important to remember that radiator shudders could be purchased as an aftermarket accessory. Also, Moto-Meters were extremely popular on all makes since there were no temp gauges on the instrument panels. |

1927 Cadillac (1926 had a different logo) |

It looks to be this one: /vehicle_1314098-Cadillac-Series-314-1926.html (horn on the right, moto meter, both filmed in Montreal) -- Last edit: 2019-11-23 16:44:17 |

Wait, why is it suddenly unknown again? |
