The Trader Clearway chassis resembled the Trader forward-control models but had a lower easy-access appearance. It was based on a Thames Trader 1½, 2-ton & 3-ton [640E] normal-control chassis with a special front end built by Garner Motors. Ford's selected bodybuilders were than used for mounting of their own range of various body designs for easy access delivery vans, refrigerated-insulated vans, Luton vans, bakery vans, milk floats and mobile shops. After March 1965 in conjunction with the renaming of the Thames Trader normal control chassis to Ford K-Series, the Clearway vans were renamed Ford M-Series Clearway vans. |
