Yes. And of note in the background: World Trade Center Towers 1 and 2

So the junkyard is on the N.J.-side, I think.

I can't quite see which end is the tip of the island, so actually it could be on either the Brooklyn side or the New Jersey side. But typically this type of thing is located in New Jersey. (After all, their state flag does display a toxic waste site)

Hmmmm  It seems to look more like a fullsize Chevrolet Impala from 1969/70.

I cannot see the front quarter-lite in the door glass? This was removed from the Impala by 1969. The Chevelle however still had the quarter-lite fitted in 1970.

The spacing and arrangement of the North (left with antenna) and South Towers suggest its viewed directly from the west and not south or south-west so New Jersey.

@Max: I think, it's more the N.J.-side, because there aren't houses in front of the WTC. The WTC was located on the Hudson River-side of Manhattan. At a view from Brooklyn would have been more houses before. And -my personal impression- at N.J.there are till today more junkyards and rougher industrial areas than in Brooklyn. ;)
