Well, it's a TR5. The question is - what is the make in case of such design - Ikarus TR5 or Mavag TR5 (with Ikarus body)? Perhaps this Hungarian site could help - http://www.old-ikarus.hu/elsaut_tr5.htm These with different grill were for sure Mavags: /vehicles_make-Mavag_model-TR5.html Maybe they quickly replaced one grill by another? -- Last edit: 2008-11-09 20:24:36 |

At old-ikarus.hu this model is referred to as the last one of MÁVAG. They built the chassis, the engine was made in the Láng factory; the body of the prototypes was produced by Uhri Testvérek (Uhri Brothers). Then, before long, the Uhri factory was nationalized, and rechristened to Ikarus. Anyway, the proper name of these vehicles seems to be MÁVAG TR5. -- Last edit: 2008-11-09 22:23:23 |

Then it means that this is the first type of grill which they had. This one has been changed somwhere about 1949 I believe, as buses from the 1950 already had a different one http://www.przegubowiec.com/bus/katalog/stare/opis_mavag.htm |
