I don't think that this car is an Austin anything. It looks more like a 1934/5 Sunbeam Dawn. |

I'd suggest an early Hillman Minx- definately not a Sunbeam Dawn, which was larger, had a 'V' grill and entirly different shaped body. |

Hadn't seen it. I certainly wouldn't argue with Paul Skilleter! |

There is probably a pun with Paul Skilleter but, guess what? I missed it. (What a surprise!) Anyway, Hillman Minx sounds correct to you? (I don't ask to the fake Rootes-Frontkämpfer of beyond the borders, he knows nothing about anything older than the Imp, by his own admission.) |

http://www.paulskilleterbooks.co.uk Yes, Minx could well be right. |

I never asked for that title nor claimed it for myself. It was bestowed on me, so I had no choice but to try and live up to its heavy burden. But gradually I extended it backwards slightly from the Imp into the 50s for Minxes and so on. But the forests of the deeper past are still impenetrable for my fragile shoulders .... |

Ts-ts-ts… Well, I'll withdraw this Sunbeam Dawn qualification which has no more agreement among the knowledgeable attendance… Will I? |

I see no reason why not, I only said it looks like a Sunbeam Dawn. |

Additional information from a slightly later screen capture (0:11:42).![]() It appears to be based on a six-light saloon with front doors hinged at the leading edge and rear suicide doors. |
