1954 Dennis...probably "local" South African conversion from an articulated tractor/trailer unit. |

Think this may be a Dennis F1. http://www.fire-engine-photos.com/picture/number9281 http://f1dennis.blogspot.com/2010/07/re-birth-of-dennis-begins.html Shame we can't see more of the other fire engine on right of main pic. -- Last edit: 2019-10-27 19:45:55 |

From listing of preserved Fire Engines https://www.dennissociety.org.uk/preserved/fire/index.html 1947 Dennis F1 Chassis No 3197 (unregistered) Pump Escape Klerksdorp Fire Brigade South Africa. Its not said how many were supplied (only that this machine with Braidwood type body was supplied to Klerksdorp municipality); its likely to be from the same batch if not the actual machine but without the escape ladder during filming. http://www.mangaungfire.co.za Dennis F1 'TY-5' Chassis No 3197 is an exhibit at Mangaung Fire Department Fire Brigade Museum in South Africa ![]() -- Last edit: 2019-11-17 16:07:02 |
