I was thinking that at first. 3105 if it is a Chevy. But there's something about that insignia on the hood close to the grille that puzzles me. |

Unlike the 1st generation of C/K-Series trucks, there was no emblem in the front part of the fender or of the hood for the GMC New Design models: ![]() ![]() ![]() (A ½-ton panel // A 1-ton one - Video tour here // Another ½-ton panel, part of the IMCDb) So the blurry thing "on the hood close to the grille" should have no impact on the identification of that panel. But with what can be seen, it could be either a Chevrolet Advance-Design panel or a GMC New Design one, indeed. Among sure things: • the MY range is 1947 to 1955. It can be narrowed to 1947-50, due to the doors without the 1951+ vent windows. • it is a short model, so a Chevrolet 3100 (3105 Chevy code) or a GMC 100 (1947-50 FC-101 GMC code). According to a previous discussion in the forum, this panel could be categorized as a Chevrolet. Especially when looking carefully to stronghold's first thumb, where the grille seems to be the 5-bar one of a Chevrolet model... ⇒ 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design Panel [3105] -- Last edit: 2015-01-21 03:12:53 |
