I'm affraid it can't be 1980's ..as this is season one of the series...1977.! ;)

 honest mistake, if you go to wikipedia.com and search "Ford Econoline", it gives the different generations (or everytime it was heavily redisigned0 it says that for an almost 15 year span, the Ford Econoline had almost no major developments on the exterior.

Besides that, the van itself was either made in 1974, or earlier. That's a second-generation Ford Econoline, which means it's not a product of the 1980's.

 The one from episodes #2.01 and #2.02 are 1968-70's. The one from episode #2.09 is a 1971-74.
