It had woodgrain trim but unlike the Wagoneer it replaced, it had a Cherokee grille. It was the second most expensive model in the lineup after the Cherokee Limited.

Well, it more or less replaced the Laredo, the Limited and the Briarwood as the XJ lineup was simplified in 1993 (the new ZJ Grand Cherokee now had the most luxurous versions).
